About
Planning software from people who have done the planning.
Mizahn is a planning platform built specifically for process industries to help organizations make better decisions about their assets, denominated in dollars, under uncertainty so plans survive contact with the real world.
This site covers Mizahn for chemical manufacturers.
01Mission
Make the economically best plan the normal plan.
Process plants make co-products, run on variable yields, and sit inside tightly coupled networks. Most planning software was built for discrete manufacturing, so planners fall back on spreadsheets and the expensive system becomes a reporting layer.
We build planning software that represents the plant as it is, prices every decision in dollars, and plans for what can go wrong. The goal is simple: the plan your team runs should be the one that earns the most, and everyone should be able to see why. [TODO: approve mission statement]
02What we believe
Six beliefs behind the product.
- 01Process-native.
- Process industries need planning built for process. Co-products, recipes, and blends belong in the model, not in manual adjustments.
- 02Priced in dollars.
- Every plan, trade-off, and target should be expressed in one currency, so teams argue about margin instead of whose number wins.
- 03De-averaged.
- Plans built on averages fail in the real world. Uncertainty in demand, prices, yields, and availability should be explicit.
- 04Decisions, not dashboards.
- Planners need a decision they can act on, with the trade-offs behind it, not another chart to interpret.
- 05Your actual assets.
- The model should be your plant: real units, real constraints, real interactions, all of it inspectable.
- 06Modern software engineering.
- Planning software should grow with the business, without forcing a re-platforming every few years.
03The team
Process manufacturing meets operations research.
The team combines two disciplines that rarely sit in the same room. We have run production planning, supply chain optimization, and process operations inside major chemical producers [TODO: approve naming Dow and DuPont], and built optimization models for planning teams across process industries. [TODO: approve team description]
Mizahn comes from years of hands-on planning work across process-industry clients. The same problems came up again and again: co-products the planning system could not see, targets nobody could price, and plans built on averages. Mizahn turns those recurring problems into a product.
In production
The Mizahn platform is in production as the planning system for a major pharma company's advanced therapies business, where it replaced a legacy planning system.
- Process manufacturing
- Plants, units, yields, turnarounds, and the realities of running a co-product network day to day.
- Operations research
- Mathematical programming, optimization under uncertainty, and the modeling that makes large plans solvable.
- Software engineering
- Production software that planners rely on every cycle, built to be extended as the business changes.

04Working with us
How we work with clients.
Step 1
Start with one decision.
We pick a decision that matters to you, such as a feed slate, a campaign plan, or a turnaround, and build the first model around it.
Step 2
Build the model with your team.
Your planners and engineers know the plant. We model your units, constraints, and economics with them, and they review every piece.
Step 3
Start from the data you have.
Capacities, yields, costs, prices, contracts, and your existing demand forecasts. [TODO: confirm data onboarding wording]
Step 4
Compare it with your current plan.
We run Mizahn alongside your current planning process and explain every material difference, in dollars.
Step 5
Extend from there.
Add decisions, sites, and products once the first one has proved itself.
Mizahn is licensed software, with support included.
